BBMP Deploys Over 800 Emergency Staff as Rain Continues in Bengaluru
Heavy rain persists in Bengaluru, prompting the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike to mobilize more than 800 emergency personnel to protect low‑lying areas.
Rainfall has continued unabated in Bengaluru, the city often dubbed the Silicon City, raising concerns about water accumulation in vulnerable zones.
In response, the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has assigned over 800 emergency management staff to monitor and address the situation. The large deployment aims to ensure rapid action wherever water threatens to enter low‑lying neighborhoods.
The primary objective of the emergency teams is to prevent water ingress into these areas, thereby reducing the risk of flooding and associated disruptions for residents.
