BBA student shot dead, ₹2 lakh robbed by five armed men near Saraiya Ghat, Muzaffarpur

Muzaffarpur, Bihar – On the early hours of the incident, a BBA student named Dhanraj Kumar was attacked while traveling between Saraiya Ghat and Mahesi village on the Muzaffarpur‑Vaishali district boundary. He was carrying two lakh rupees intended for his college fee payment when five men armed with firearms opened fire, fatally wounding him and seizing the cash. The assailants fled the scene immediately after the robbery.
Police officials arrived promptly, secured the area and registered a First Information Report (FIR) against unidentified suspects. A search operation has been launched across both districts, and investigators are reviewing CCTV footage from nearby roads and villages to identify the perpetrators.
The incident has heightened concerns about safety on inter‑district routes, prompting local authorities to urge commuters to exercise caution and report any suspicious activity. No other injuries were reported.
The investigation remains ongoing, and police have appealed to the public for information that could lead to the arrest of the five armed criminals.
