Bashir Ahmad Naik Shares His Entrepreneurial Journey with Hon’ble LG at Rashtriya Ekta Diwas and J&K Foundation Day Celebrations; Raises Long-Pending Incentive Issues Involving ₹1,800 Crore Investment
Bashir Ahmad Naik, President of the Jammu & Kashmir Fruits & Vegetables Processing & Integrated Cold Chain Association (JKPICCA) and Managing Director & CEO of Al Noor Group of Companies, was among the distinguished invitees at the celebrations of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas and the Foundation Day of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir, organised today at the Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC), Srinagar, in the august presence of the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir, Shri Manoj Sinha, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

A significant highlight of the event was the opportunity accorded to Mr. Naik to participate in a live interaction alongside the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor and other distinguished dignitaries. Under the theme “Meri Kahani, Meri Zubani”, he shared glimpses of his personal and professional journey, reflecting upon his entrepreneurial experiences, leadership and contribution towards strengthening the cold chain infrastructure and horticulture economy of Jammu & Kashmir.

The interaction provided a platform to highlight the journey of an entrepreneur whose vision, perseverance and sustained commitment have contributed to strengthening agricultural infrastructure, creating economic opportunities and supporting the horticulture sector of the Union Territory.

Subsequently, Mr. Naik had a one-to-one meeting with the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor at Lok Bhavan, during which he once again strongly highlighted the long-pending issue of clearance and disbursement of industrial incentives to eligible units. Particular emphasis was laid on 43 cases pending for a considerable period, involving an investment of approximately ₹1,800 crore.

Mr. Naik stressed that the prolonged pendency of these cases was affecting the industrial ecosystem and the confidence of investors, particularly those who had made substantial investments in the region with the expectation of receiving incentives envisaged under the applicable industrial policies.

Taking cognisance of the matter, the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor assured his intervention and conveyed that the issue would be taken up for an appropriate resolution, with the best possible solution, to facilitate the clearance of the pending cases.

Mr. Naik expressed his sincere gratitude to the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor for the audience, patient consideration and positive assurance, and reiterated the association’s commitment towards strengthening the horticulture-based industrial ecosystem, attracting investment, generating employment and contributing to the economic growth of Jammu & Kashmir.

The occasion was a recognition of Mr. Naik’s entrepreneurial journey as well as an important opportunity to bring pressing industry-related concerns directly to the highest constitutional office of the Union Territory.
