The university’s vice‑chancellor has ordered repairs to cracked rooms, water‑coolers, electricity, Wi‑Fi and sanitation in its hostels following years of grievances.
Barkatullah University in Bhopal has launched a comprehensive repair drive across its student hostels after prolonged complaints about basic amenities. The vice‑chancellor issued directives to fix cracked walls, replace malfunctioning water‑coolers, stabilise electricity supply, improve Wi‑Fi connectivity and enhance cleanliness in the facilities.
The move follows years of student protests and media reports highlighting deteriorating living conditions in the university’s residential blocks. Administration officials said the repairs will be carried out in phases, prioritising the most unsafe rooms first.
University authorities have also promised regular monitoring to ensure that the upgraded infrastructure meets safety standards and that future maintenance issues are addressed promptly.
