Bangladesh and India will hold talks to coordinate the Sherpur elephant corridor, a key wildlife passage linking the two countries. The meeting aims to enhance cross-border conservation efforts.
Bangladesh and India have announced plans to discuss the Sherpur elephant corridor, a vital wildlife passage that connects the forests of the two countries.
The corridor, located in Bangladesh’s Sherpur district, allows elephants to move between the two nations but has faced challenges due to habitat fragmentation and human encroachment.
Officials said the talks will focus on joint monitoring, habitat restoration, and measures to mitigate human‑elephant conflict, with the goal of ensuring the corridor remains functional for future generations.
