Bangalore traffic police are drafting a new rule that will prohibit heavy goods vehicles from entering the city between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m. starting next month, after consultations with transport associations.

Bangalore traffic police have announced a proposal to ban heavy goods vehicles from entering the city during daytime hours in an effort to reduce traffic congestion.

Under the proposed regulation, heavy vehicles will be prohibited from entering the city between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m. starting next month. The ban is aimed at easing the heavy traffic that plagues Bangalore’s roads during peak hours.

The police are currently consulting with transport associations to finalize the details of the rule and to address any concerns from the logistics sector.

Officials say the measure will improve road safety and help commuters navigate the city more smoothly.
