The Baitarani River, which flows through Odisha, has recorded a fresh rise in water levels, marking another episode of swelling after recent rains. State disaster management officials have placed the river under close observation and have warned that low‑lying areas could face flooding if the water continues to rise.

Local administration teams are on standby to assist any communities that may need to be evacuated, and they have urged residents in vulnerable villages to remain prepared for possible displacement.

Transportation on nearby roads may be disrupted as authorities assess the situation, and markets in the vicinity have been advised to monitor the river's behavior closely. The situation remains fluid, and updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
