Baba Mahakal Adorned with Tripundra, Bhang Shringar During Bhasma Aarti at Ujjain’s Mahakaleshwar Temple

During the Bhasma Aarti at Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple, Baba Mahakal received a Panchamrit abhishek and was decorated with Tripundra, moon symbols, bhang shringar and a bel leaf garland, drawing large crowds of devotees.
Ujjain's historic Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple hosted a special Bhasma Aarti today, during which the deity Baba Mahakal was ritually anointed with Panchamrit. The ceremony featured a traditional shringar that included the application of Tripundra markings and a crescent moon symbol on the deity's forehead.
The shringar also incorporated bhang, a traditional offering, to enhance the divine adornment. In addition, a garland made of fresh bel (bael) leaves was placed around the idol, completing the elaborate presentation.
Following the abhishek, a large gathering of devotees assembled in the temple courtyard to witness the divine form. The atmosphere resonated with chants of "Jai Shri Mahakal" as worshippers offered prayers and sang hymns.
The event underscored the temple's significance as a major pilgrimage site in Madhya Pradesh, drawing faithful from across the region to partake in the ritual and seek blessings.
