During the morning ash arati, Baba Mahakal was anointed with Panchamrit and decorated with a silver crown, mundmala, Tripund and ash, attracting a large gathering of devotees in Ujjain.
Ujjain witnessed a vibrant religious ceremony this morning as the idol of Baba Mahakal was taken out for the traditional ash arati. The ritual began with a Panchamrit abhishek, where the deity was bathed in a mixture of five sacred substances, marking the start of the special puja.
Following the abhishek, the idol was embellished with a silver crown, a garland of mundmala, and the distinctive Tripund markings on the forehead. Additional ash decorations completed the divine look, presenting a striking visual for the assembled faithful.
The elaborate adornment drew a sizable crowd of devotees who gathered around the sanctum to witness the spectacle. Many pilgrims described the sight as spiritually uplifting, noting the meticulous preparation and the aura of devotion that filled the temple premises.
Such elaborate presentations are customary during major festivals in Ujjain, reinforcing the city's status as a prominent pilgrimage centre for Shaivite worshippers across the country.
