UNICEF India’s national ambassador, actor Ayushmann Khurrana, visited a UNICEF‑backed initiative in Maharashtra that provides family‑ and community‑based care to children affected by seasonal migration.

Ayushmann Khurrana, UNICEF India’s national ambassador, visited a UNICEF‑supported project in Maharashtra aimed at safeguarding children who migrate seasonally with their families. The programme focuses on delivering care through family and community networks, ensuring that children’s health, nutrition and education are not disrupted during periods of movement.

Officials said the initiative mobilises local volunteers and health workers to monitor migrant families, provide basic health services, and facilitate school enrolment for children in transit. By strengthening community ties, the project seeks to reduce the vulnerability of migrant children to exploitation and neglect.

During the visit, Khurrana toured the field sites, interacted with beneficiary families and highlighted the importance of sustained public‑private collaboration to protect the rights of India’s most mobile children.
