AUMOVIO India announced the commencement of a restoration programme for Dhunturu Lake in Tripura. The project involves desilting, shoreline reinforcement and ecological rehabilitation to increase the lake's water holding capacity.
Officials said the restored lake is expected to serve as a reliable source of water for nearby villages, reducing dependence on erratic monsoon rains. Enhanced water storage will also support irrigation for surrounding agricultural fields, contributing to food security in the region.
The company has pledged to monitor water quality and biodiversity post‑restoration, collaborating with local authorities to ensure sustainable management of the water resource.
