Assam, West Bengal and Bihar presented their growth plans to potential investors at the ICC Global Business Summit 2026, highlighting opportunities in infrastructure, manufacturing and agriculture.

The International Chamber of Commerce’s Global Business Summit 2026 became a platform for three eastern states – Assam, West Bengal and Bihar – to showcase their investment potential. Delegates from the states outlined a coordinated growth narrative that emphasizes improved logistics, renewable energy projects and expansion of agro‑processing clusters.

Officials from each state highlighted recent policy reforms aimed at simplifying land acquisition and offering fiscal incentives to manufacturers. In Assam, the focus was on leveraging its strategic location along the Brahmaputra corridor, while West Bengal underscored its strong manufacturing base and proximity to major ports. Bihar’s pitch centered on its large labour pool and plans to upgrade its road and rail connectivity.

The summit attracted senior executives from multinational corporations, private equity firms and Indian conglomerates. While concrete commitments were not disclosed, the three states reported a surge in interest from investors seeking to tap into the eastern region’s emerging market. The event is expected to catalyse further dialogue and concrete project proposals in the coming months.
