Assam Rifles and Manipur Police arrested a senior member of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) after locating him with a ₹4 lakh bounty on his head.

Assam Rifles and Manipur Police carried out a coordinated operation that led to the arrest of a senior member of the People's Liberation Army (PLA). The militant was found with a ₹4 lakh bounty on his head, which had been offered by security agencies for his capture.

The arrested individual is believed to have been involved in several insurgent activities in the northeastern region, including attacks on security forces and civilian targets. His removal is expected to disrupt PLA operational capabilities.

In a statement, the Assam Rifles spokesperson said the operation was the result of sustained intelligence work and close cooperation with local police. The joint effort underscores the commitment of both forces to curb insurgency in Manipur.

The arrest is a significant blow to the PLA, which has long been a thorn in the side of the Indian security establishment. Authorities are now focusing on dismantling the militant's network and recovering any weapons or explosives seized during the operation.
