The Assam Premier League announced plans to bolster the state's cricket ecosystem by focusing on regional development.
The Assam Premier League (APL), a state‑level T20 competition, has publicly stated its intention to build a stronger regional cricket ecosystem.
According to The Assam Tribune, the league’s strategy includes providing a competitive platform for local players, improving coaching standards, and encouraging investment in cricket infrastructure across Assam.
Officials said the initiative aims to create a sustainable talent pipeline that can feed into national squads and raise the overall standard of cricket in the northeastern region.
The APL hopes that a more robust ecosystem will attract sponsors and increase fan engagement, thereby contributing to the sport’s growth in the state.
