State Minister Krishnendu Paul visited Jagiroad to assess progress on the water supply infrastructure being prepared for Tata's new semiconductor manufacturing facility.

Assam's Minister of Water Resources, Krishnendu Paul, conducted an on‑site inspection of the water supply works earmarked for Tata Semiconductor's upcoming manufacturing complex in Jagiroad. The visit aimed to verify that the infrastructure meets the technical specifications required for a high‑tech semiconductor plant.

The water supply project involves laying pipelines, constructing storage tanks and establishing treatment facilities to ensure a reliable and quality water source for the plant's operations. Officials briefed the minister on the current stage of construction and the timeline for completion, emphasizing the critical role of uninterrupted water supply in semiconductor fabrication.

Tata Semiconductor's investment in Jagiroad is expected to boost Assam's industrial landscape, creating jobs and fostering ancillary businesses. The minister reiterated the state government's commitment to providing essential utilities promptly, aligning with broader efforts to attract advanced manufacturing to the region.

Following the inspection, the ministry said it will monitor progress closely and coordinate with Tata to address any logistical challenges, aiming for the water infrastructure to be fully operational before the plant's commissioning phase begins.
