The Assam government has set up a dedicated helpline to assist Assamese nationals unable to return from Nepal due to travel disruptions.

Assam's state administration announced the creation of a dedicated telephone helpline aimed at supporting Assamese citizens who are currently unable to leave Nepal. The service is intended to provide real‑time information and guidance to those facing travel disruptions, including assistance with documentation and repatriation procedures. Officials said the helpline responds to a rise in reports of travelers stranded after flight cancellations and border restrictions. The helpline will be operated by the Assam Home Department in coordination with the Ministry of External Affairs to ensure prompt liaison with Nepalese authorities. Citizens are urged to use the toll‑free number to obtain updates and necessary consular support.
