Assam Flood Alert Issued

The Golaghat district administration in Assam has sounded a flood alert as heavy rainfall continues to lash the region. The alert comes as river levels rise, posing a threat to nearby areas. The Doyang Dam, which is currently filled to capacity, may release excess water to prevent damage to the dam structure. This could worsen the flood situation in the downstream areas. The district administration has advised residents to be prepared for any eventuality and to follow evacuation instructions if necessary.
