Assam Chief Minister inaugurated a new reinforced concrete bridge at Jalukbari, aiming to ease traffic flow and improve connectivity in the region.
On Tuesday, Assam’s Chief Minister inaugurated a new reinforced concrete (RCC) bridge at Jalukbari, a key junction in the capital city of Guwahati. The bridge, which spans the Brahmaputra River’s tributary, is designed to accommodate both vehicular and pedestrian traffic, reducing congestion on the existing routes.
The structure, built with modern engineering techniques, is expected to cut travel time between the western and eastern parts of the city by up to 20 minutes. Local authorities estimate that the bridge will boost trade and tourism by providing a more reliable link for commuters and transport operators.
During the ceremony, the CM highlighted the bridge’s role in supporting the state’s economic development plans and underscored the government’s commitment to improving infrastructure across Assam. He also thanked the construction teams and the public for their cooperation throughout the project.
The inauguration marks a significant milestone in Assam’s ongoing efforts to upgrade its transport network, with several other bridge projects slated for completion in the coming years.
