Assam Chief Minister Sarma has announced that the state will require more than Rs 1,000 crore to rehabilitate areas affected by recent floods.
Assam has been hit by severe flooding in recent months, damaging homes, infrastructure and livelihoods across several districts. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has stated that the state will need more than Rs 1,000 crore to carry out comprehensive rehabilitation and reconstruction work. The government is preparing a detailed plan and is seeking additional funds from the central government and other agencies to meet the estimated cost.
