BJP leader Himanta Biswa Sarma criticised the Congress and said the party is unlikely to win the upcoming Himachal Pradesh elections, predicting a BJP triumph.
Assam chief minister and senior BJP figure Himanta Biswa Sarma publicly rebuked the Indian National Congress, describing the party as ineffective ahead of the Himachal Pradesh assembly polls. He asserted that the Congress has failed to present a credible alternative to voters in the northern state.
Sarma went on to predict that the Bharatiya Janata Party will secure a decisive victory in Himachal, citing the party's recent performance and organisational strength. He said the BJP’s development agenda resonates with the electorate and that the opposition lacks a clear roadmap.
The remarks were made during a media interaction where Sarma was asked about the political climate in Himachal. While he did not disclose any specific campaign strategies, his comments underscore the BJP’s confidence ahead of the state’s upcoming election.
Political analysts note that Sarma’s statements reflect a broader effort by senior BJP leaders to project unity and momentum across states where elections are imminent. The Congress, for its part, has not responded publicly to Sarma’s criticism as of now.
