An officer of the Archaeological Survey of India was suspended after authorities alleged that he planted heroin at the residence of a Shiv Sena leader in Punjab.

The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has suspended one of its officers following an investigation that uncovered evidence of heroin being planted at the house of a Shiv Sena leader in Punjab.

According to police reports, the officer allegedly used the property as a staging ground for drug trafficking, and the discovery of the narcotic led to a formal inquiry.

The ASI has stated that the suspension is part of a broader effort to curb corruption within its ranks, and the officer is currently under investigation by the Central Bureau of Investigation.
