Arunachal Pradesh has been declared the best‑performing state under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana‑Urban (PMAY‑U), according to a report by Northeast Today.
Arunachal Pradesh was named the top‑performing state under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana‑Urban (PMAY‑U) in the latest assessment released by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Northeast Today reported.
The PMAY‑U scheme seeks to provide affordable housing to urban households living below the poverty line, with states evaluated on criteria such as project completion, beneficiary coverage and fund utilisation.
State officials said accelerated construction of housing units, robust beneficiary identification and timely release of central funds helped the state outpace other regions, reinforcing its commitment to urban housing goals.
