Kiwi fruit grown in Arunachal Pradesh has entered the Dubai market, and Chief Minister Pema Khandu hailed the move as a significant boost for the state's farmers.

Arunachal Pradesh's horticultural produce has taken a new step forward as shipments of locally grown kiwi fruit have reached buyers in Dubai. The export marks the first time the northeastern state's kiwi has entered the United Arab Emirates market, expanding its reach beyond domestic consumption.

Chief Minister Pema Khandu praised the development, stating that the Dubai entry will provide a reliable income source for farmers and encourage them to adopt better cultivation practices. He emphasized that such international market access aligns with the state's goal of diversifying agricultural earnings.

Agricultural officials noted that the kiwi variety cultivated in the high‑altitude regions of Arunachal is well‑suited to export standards, meeting quality and phytosanitary requirements of the Gulf market. The move is expected to open doors for other horticultural products from the state.

The government plans to facilitate further export initiatives by strengthening cold‑chain logistics and providing training to growers on post‑harvest handling, aiming to make Arunachal Pradesh a notable player in global fruit trade.
