Arunachal Pradesh has upgraded its power infrastructure by installing two new 33kV transmission lines, enhancing connectivity across the state. The project aims to improve reliability and support future energy demands.

The state government announced the completion of a major power network upgrade in Arunachal Pradesh, which involved the installation of two new 33kV transmission lines. The project, aimed at strengthening the state’s electricity supply, will provide a more reliable and efficient transmission system for the region.

The new 33kV lines cover a combined length of several kilometres, linking previously underserved areas and ensuring smoother power flow across the state’s rugged terrain. By replacing older, lower‑capacity lines, the upgrade is expected to reduce transmission losses and improve voltage stability.

Officials say the enhanced grid will support the growing demand for electricity, especially as the state plans to expand renewable energy projects and industrial development. The upgrade also aligns with national objectives to improve rural electrification and reduce power outages.

While the project’s technical details remain largely operational, the state’s commitment to modernising its power infrastructure marks a significant step toward achieving long‑term energy security for Arunachal Pradesh.
