The Arunachal Pradesh Board and OCWWB have given the green light for rural job card holders to be inducted into the state's labour board, aiming to enhance employment governance.

The Arunachal Pradesh Board (APB) in coordination with the Office of the Chief Welfare and Women’s Board (OCWWB) has formally approved the inclusion of rural job card holders into the state's labour board. This decision, reported by the Arunachal Observer, is intended to broaden representation of the rural workforce in labour policy deliberations.

Officials said the move will allow job card beneficiaries, who are primarily engaged in agricultural and allied activities, to have a direct voice in the formulation and oversight of labour regulations. The integration is expected to streamline grievance redressal mechanisms and improve access to skill development schemes.

The board's resolution follows a series of consultations with local NGOs and community leaders, who highlighted the need for greater participation of rural workers in decision‑making bodies. Implementation details, including the number of seats allocated and the selection process, will be communicated in the coming weeks.

Stakeholders anticipate that the inclusion will not only empower rural job card holders but also contribute to more inclusive labour market policies across Arunachal Pradesh.
