The Governor of Arunachal Pradesh has urged the state's flagship university to elevate research and academic excellence, emphasizing the need for a stronger focus on innovative studies.
On Thursday, the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh delivered a speech at the university’s main auditorium, urging faculty and students to prioritize research initiatives and academic excellence. He highlighted the university’s potential to become a regional hub for innovative studies if it channels resources toward advanced research projects.
The governor noted that while teaching remains essential, the institution must also foster a culture of inquiry and experimentation. He called on the administration to allocate more funding for laboratories, encourage interdisciplinary collaborations, and attract scholars with expertise in emerging fields.
He emphasized that strengthening research capabilities would not only enhance the university’s reputation but also contribute to the state’s socio‑economic development. The governor urged stakeholders to support policy reforms that facilitate grant applications and streamline research approvals.
In response, the university’s vice‑chancellor said the administration would review current research strategies and set up a task force to implement the governor’s recommendations within the next academic year.
