The Arunachal Food Commission has announced plans to set up two dedicated food testing laboratories across the state to curb the rising incidence of adulterated food products.

The Arunachal Food Commission (AFC) announced on Thursday that it will establish two new food testing laboratories in the state to address the growing problem of adulterated food items.

The proposed centres, one in the western region and the other in the eastern part of Arunachal Pradesh, will be equipped with modern analytical instruments and staffed by trained food safety specialists.

Officials said the labs will conduct routine inspections of food vendors, process samples from markets and provide certification to compliant producers, thereby enhancing consumer confidence.

The commission plans to start construction in the next quarter and expects the facilities to be operational by the end of the year, following approvals from the state government.
