Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein of Arunachal Pradesh has called for broader opportunities for women, urging the state government to implement measures that promote gender equality and empower women across sectors.
Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein addressed the media in a press conference held in the state capital, emphasizing the need for more inclusive opportunities for women in Arunachal Pradesh.
He highlighted that women’s participation in education, employment and entrepreneurship remains below the national average and called on the government to introduce targeted policies that bridge this gap.
The Deputy CM announced plans to roll out skill‑development programmes, expand micro‑finance options and provide support for women‑owned businesses, aiming to create a more gender‑balanced workforce.
Chowna Mein stressed that empowering women would not only advance gender equality but also contribute to the overall socio‑economic development of the state.
