The Arunachal Congress has formally objected to the United Nations’ depiction of Arunachal Pradesh on its map, reiterating that the state’s territorial status is non‑negotiable.

The Arunachal Congress issued a statement protesting the latest United Nations map that portrays Arunachal Pradesh as part of a disputed area. The party said the depiction undermines India's sovereign claim over the northeastern state.

In the statement, the Congress reiterated that the status of Arunachal Pradesh is "non‑negotiable" and warned that any external portrayal suggesting otherwise would be unacceptable.

The objection comes against the backdrop of long‑standing border tensions between India and China, with New Delhi consistently affirming Arunachal Pradesh as an integral part of the country. The party called on the UN to correct the map to reflect the internationally recognised borders.

While the UN has not responded publicly, the Arunachal Congress urged the central government to raise the issue in diplomatic forums to safeguard national interests.
