Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu has reviewed the roadmap for establishing a municipality in Tawang district.
Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu visited Tawang district on Thursday to examine the state government’s draft plan for creating a municipality in the region.
The roadmap, prepared by the Department of Urban Development, outlines the administrative structure, financial requirements and projected benefits of municipal governance for the local population.
During the review, the CM highlighted the importance of improved civic amenities, better infrastructure and enhanced local participation in decision‑making.
The government will now move the proposal to the state cabinet for approval, after which the municipal council will be constituted and elections scheduled.
