The Arunachal Pradesh Anti-Corruption Bureau arrested a retired Divisional Forest Officer on suspicion of misappropriating government funds worth Rs 31.93 crore. The arrest follows an investigation into alleged financial irregularities in the forest department.

The Arunachal Pradesh Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) took into custody a retired Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) in connection with an alleged fund misappropriation case involving Rs 31.93 crore.

According to the ACB, the investigation revealed discrepancies in the allocation and utilization of funds meant for forest conservation and development activities.

The retired DFO was produced before a local magistrate for further legal proceedings, and the ACB said the investigation is ongoing.

The case has drawn attention to financial oversight in state forest departments, though the ACB has not disclosed any additional suspects at this stage.
