AP Secures 25.1 Lakh MT Fertilizer for Rabi Crop Season

The state of Andhra Pradesh has been allotted 25.1 lakh metric tonnes of fertilizer for the upcoming Rabi season, a boost that could enhance crop yields across the region.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare announced that Andhra Pradesh will receive 25.1 lakh metric tonnes of fertilizer for the 2024‑25 Rabi cropping season.
This allocation, part of the central government’s annual fertilizer distribution, is aimed at ensuring adequate supply of urea, DAP and other key nutrients to farmers in the state.
Agriculture officials expect the additional fertilizer to support higher productivity in major Rabi crops such as wheat, mustard and gram, potentially boosting the state’s agricultural output.
The allotment follows a review of previous allocations and is intended to address shortages that have been reported in several districts.
Farmers’ associations have welcomed the decision, citing the need for timely fertilizer availability to meet sowing schedules.
