The Crime Investigation Departments of Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka have joined forces to authenticate the bonds held by victims and agents linked to the AgriGold fraud.
The Crime Investigation Departments (CIDs) of Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka announced a joint operation to verify the bonds issued to investors and agents in the AgriGold scheme, which has been flagged as a large‑scale fraud. The cooperation aims to cross‑check the authenticity of the documents, identify genuine investors and weed out fabricated records.
Officials from both states said the coordinated effort will involve sharing databases, examining transaction histories and interviewing victims and alleged agents. By pooling resources, the CIDs hope to accelerate the verification process and prevent further exploitation of investors.
The AgriGold scam, which promised unusually high returns on agricultural investments, attracted thousands of participants across several states. The joint verification drive is part of a broader crackdown intended to recover losses and bring the perpetrators to justice.
