Union minister Anurag Thakur stressed that home‑grown technology and a vibrant startup ecosystem are essential to realise a developed India by the centenary of independence.

Union Minister Anurag Thakur, speaking in Ludhiana, highlighted the pivotal role of indigenous technology in India's long‑term growth strategy. He argued that reliance on home‑grown solutions will reduce dependence on imports and boost the country's manufacturing base.

Thakur also underscored the importance of a robust startup ecosystem, noting that innovative Indian firms can drive economic diversification and create high‑skill jobs. He called for greater policy support, easier access to capital and stronger links between research institutions and entrepreneurs.

The minister linked these priorities to the vision of a "Viksit Bharat" by 2047, the 100‑year milestone of India's independence, urging both the public and private sectors to collaborate in building a self‑reliant, technology‑driven economy.
