The All Nyishi Students Union (ANSU) has scheduled a 48‑hour shutdown across seven Nyishi‑dominated districts of Arunachal Pradesh beginning September 28, demanding improvements in the state’s education system.
The All Nyishi Students Union (ANSU) announced a 48‑hour bandh that will be observed in seven districts of Arunachal Pradesh where the Nyishi community forms the majority. The shutdown is set to begin at midnight on September 28 and will last until the same hour on September 30.
ANSU said the bandh is being called to press the state government for a range of education‑related demands, including better school infrastructure, increased teacher recruitment and improvements in the quality of instruction in the region.
The union warned that all educational institutions, transport services and related public facilities in the affected districts are likely to remain closed during the protest period. It has urged students, parents and local residents to cooperate with the bandh to maximise its impact.
State officials have been informed of the planned shutdown, and authorities are expected to monitor the situation to ensure public safety while addressing the concerns raised by the students’ body.
