The lone Bailey bridge that carries traffic across the Lohit River in Anjaw, the northernmost district of Arunachal Pradesh, is said to be dangerously close to collapse. According to local reports, a series of heavy trucks exceeding the bridge’s load limits have repeatedly traversed the span. The cumulative stress has weakened the steel framework, prompting fears that the bridge could give way at any moment.
