The Andhra Pradesh State Election Commission has shifted the scheduled Mandal and Zilla Parishad Territorial Constituency polls to November 5.
The State Election Commission of Andhra Pradesh announced that the Mandal Parishad Territorial Constituency (MPTC) and Zilla Parishad Territorial Constituency (ZPTC) elections will now be held on November 5. The decision moves the polling date from its earlier schedule, which had been set for an earlier week in October.
Election officials said the postponement is intended to ensure a smoother conduct of the local body polls across the state. The commission will use the additional time to finalize logistical arrangements, including the deployment of polling personnel and the distribution of electronic voting machines.
Voters in the affected mandals and districts have been instructed to await further communication regarding polling stations and voting hours. The revised timetable aligns with the commission’s broader effort to complete the local body elections before the end of the calendar year.
