Redwing Labs, in partnership with UPS, has begun operating a drone‑based system to transport medical supplies across Andhra Pradesh, aiming to improve access to healthcare in remote areas.
A new drone network dedicated to healthcare logistics has been rolled out in Andhra Pradesh. The initiative, spearheaded by Redwing Labs in collaboration with global logistics firm UPS, uses unmanned aerial vehicles to ferry medicines, vaccines and diagnostic kits to clinics and hospitals in hard‑to‑reach locations.
The system is designed to cut delivery times dramatically, especially during emergencies or in regions where road connectivity is poor. By operating from strategically placed hubs, the drones can cover large swathes of the state within minutes, ensuring critical supplies reach patients faster.
State health officials say the pilot phase will focus on districts with limited medical infrastructure, with plans to expand the service statewide if the initial results prove successful.
