In a coordinated anti‑narcotics and weapons drive, Amritsar police recovered more than a kilogram of heroin, five pistols and a drone, and detained six suspected smugglers.
Amritsar police carried out a series of raids in different parts of the city as part of an ongoing campaign against drug trafficking and illegal arms. The coordinated action resulted in the seizure of more than one kilogram of heroin, five pistols and a commercial‑grade drone used by the smugglers.
The confiscated heroin was reported to weigh over a kilo, while the firearms recovered were standard pistols, indicating the nexus between narcotics and small‑arms trafficking. The drone, recovered intact, is believed to have been employed for aerial surveillance and transport of contraband.
Six individuals suspected of involvement in the network were taken into custody. The arrested persons are being interrogated, and further investigations are underway to trace the source of the weapons and the drug supply chain.
