Amritsar police uncovered a smuggling module linked to Pakistani traffickers, leading to the arrest of eight suspects.
Amritsar police have dismantled a smuggling module that was allegedly operated by Pakistani traffickers. The operation, conducted in the city’s outskirts, resulted in the arrest of eight individuals believed to be key members of the network.
Investigators say the module involved the movement of contraband goods across the border, using covert routes that had evaded detection for months. The arrests were made after a coordinated raid on a warehouse that served as a staging point for the smuggling activities.
Police officials confirmed that the seized evidence will be used to build a comprehensive case against the suspects. They also warned that the crackdown is part of a broader effort to curb cross‑border smuggling in the region.
The operation has been praised by local authorities for its swift execution and the significant disruption it has caused to the trafficking network.
