Amritsar Police Arrest Eight in Crackdown on Illegal Weapon Supply Networks

Amritsar city police announced the arrest of eight individuals suspected of being part of illegal firearms supply chains. The operation, carried out by the district urban police, targeted three distinct networks involved in the trafficking of unlicensed weapons.
Authorities recovered a total of 15 pistols and an equal number of cartridges from the suspects' possession. The seized arms are believed to have been intended for distribution across the state.
Police officials said the bust is a significant step in their ongoing effort to curb the proliferation of illegal weapons in Punjab. Investigations are continuing to identify additional links and potential buyers.
No injuries were reported during the raid, and the arrested persons will face charges under the Arms Act and related statutes.
