Indian Railways has announced the launch of a new long‑distance service, the Amrit Bharat Express, linking Bhagalpur in Bihar with Ahmedabad in Gujarat. The train will operate under numbers 19423 (Bhagalpur to Ahmedabad) and 19424 (Ahmedabad to Bhagalpur).\n\nThe inaugural run from Ahmedabad is scheduled for 26 August 2026 and will run every Wednesday. The return service from Bhagalpur will begin two days later, on 28 August 2026, operating every Friday.\n\nThe weekly schedule is designed to provide a reliable mid‑week connection between the eastern and western regions, catering to business travelers, tourists and migrant workers.\n\nRailway officials expect the new service to boost passenger traffic on the corridor, reduce travel time compared to existing options, and support economic ties between Bihar and Gujarat.\n\nThe Amrit Bharat Express joins a series of premium trains introduced by Indian Railways to enhance comfort, speed and connectivity across the country.
