The central government is deploying extensive security personnel and a detailed traffic plan ahead of Home Minister Amit Shah's scheduled visit to Meghalaya.
Meghalaya's administration has announced a comprehensive security deployment in anticipation of Home Minister Amit Shah's upcoming visit. Police and paramilitary forces are being positioned at key entry points, government buildings and public venues to ensure a smooth and safe itinerary.
The state government, in coordination with the Ministry of Home Affairs, has also drafted a traffic management scheme that includes temporary road closures, rerouted public transport and designated parking zones for officials and media. These measures aim to minimise congestion in urban centres and safeguard the movement of the ministerial convoy.
Officials have urged residents to cooperate with the directives and avoid unnecessary travel in the affected areas during the visit. The security and traffic plans will be reviewed continuously to adapt to any on‑ground developments, ensuring that the minister's schedule proceeds without disruption.
