Union Home Minister Amit Shah highlighted that the scenic Bastar region and the Chitrakote Waterfalls are set to place Chhattisgarh prominently on India’s tourism map.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah, speaking at a recent event, emphasized that the natural attractions of Bastar, particularly the Chitrakote Waterfalls, are poised to draw greater domestic and international visitor interest to Chhattisgarh. He noted that the state's rich tribal culture, dense forests and the spectacular 30‑meter drop of the falls offer a unique tourism experience that can complement existing destinations across India. Shah urged state authorities to accelerate infrastructure development, including better road connectivity, hospitality facilities and eco‑friendly amenities, to ensure a seamless travel experience for tourists. The minister also mentioned that promotional campaigns will be launched in major cities to showcase Chhattisgarh’s untapped potential as a travel hotspot. These steps aim to generate employment opportunities for local communities while preserving the ecological balance of the region.
