Sub‑Inspector Karambir Singh, who died from a bullet injury at Ambala police station, was cremated in Kurukshetra with full state honours. His family arrived from Canada and Italy, and the ceremony was attended by police officials and villagers.

Karambir Singh, a sub‑inspector with the Ambala police, died after sustaining a bullet injury at the Ambala police station earlier this month. The police station’s security footage and eyewitness accounts are being examined as part of the investigation. Singh’s cremation took place on Friday at the Kurukshetra crematorium, where he was laid to rest with full state honours, including a flag‑bearing procession and a gun salute. The ceremony was attended by senior police officials, villagers from the surrounding area, and Singh’s son and daughter, who flew in from Canada, as well as his brother from Italy. Ambala Superintendent of Police Ajit Singh Shekhawat delivered a brief address and expressed his condolences to the family. Police investigators have announced that they will continue to probe the circumstances surrounding Singh’s death to determine whether it was an accident or an act of foul play.
