Alwar’s Gram Vikas Officer Hitesh Sharma has been accused of extracting ₹95,202 from a development scheme by falsely presenting his wife, three sons and a relative as hired labourers.
Alwar district’s Gram Vikas Officer, Hitesh Sharma, is facing a criminal complaint that alleges he misappropriated funds meant for local development projects. The accusation stems from a claim that Sharma listed his wife, three sons and a relative as contract labourers to receive payment for work that was never performed.
According to the complaint filed by the Panchayat Samiti of Kuthumar’s Sonkhar village, the officials paid a total of ₹95,202 to the alleged labourers. Investigators say the amount was recorded as wages for development activities, although no actual labour was provided by the family members.
Police have registered an FIR and begun a preliminary inquiry into the matter. If the investigation confirms the allegations, Sharma could face charges of fraud, embezzlement and abuse of official position, which carry both custodial and financial penalties.
Local authorities have not commented on the case pending the outcome of the probe, and the Panchayat committee has urged a swift and transparent investigation to protect public resources.
