Indian Railways has cancelled every Mail and Express train scheduled to reach Hazrat Nizamuddin station in New Delhi on October 10, citing disruptions from a CJP‑led protest.
The Ministry of Railways issued an advisory on Monday confirming that all Mail and Express services destined for New Delhi’s Hazrat Nizamuddin station on October 10 will not run. The decision follows a protest organized by the Confederation of Journalists of India (CJP), which has been blocking access routes to the station.
Railway officials said the cancellations are a precautionary measure to ensure passenger safety and to avoid operational bottlenecks caused by the demonstrators. The affected trains include several long‑distance services that normally connect Delhi with major cities across the country.
Passengers were advised to seek alternative travel arrangements, such as other train categories, buses, or air travel, and to monitor official railway channels for updates. Refund procedures for the cancelled services will be handled as per standard railway policy.
The CJP has called for the protest to highlight concerns over press freedom, but has not provided a timeline for when normal train operations might resume. Authorities are in contact with protest leaders to explore a resolution that allows the rail network to function without further disruption.
