All Agniveers Eligible for Direct Absorption into Indian Armed Forces

The Indian Army has broadened the scope of its Agniveer program, allowing every graduate of the initiative to be directly absorbed into the Defence Forces. Previously, only a limited number of Agniveers were considered for direct recruitment, with many having to undergo additional selection processes.

Under the new directive, all Agniveers who meet the basic eligibility criteria—such as age, educational qualifications, and physical standards—will be eligible for direct enlistment. The policy aims to streamline the recruitment pipeline and make the armed forces more accessible to young graduates.

The Army has also clarified that the absorption will cover all three services—Army, Navy, and Air Force—providing a broader range of career options for Agniveers. Candidates will still need to pass the standard physical and medical tests required for each branch.

Recruitment officials have urged eligible Agniveers to apply through the official Army recruitment portal and to keep an eye on upcoming selection schedules. The move is expected to boost the number of fresh talent entering the Defence Forces in the coming years.
