The Patwari Union of Alirajpur has lodged a memorandum with the Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister, objecting to the executor’s responsibilities under the Ownership Rights Record Execution and Registration‑2026 scheme and warning of a bandh from September 15.

Alirajpur’s Patwari Union submitted a formal memorandum to the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, raising objections to the role assigned to the executor under the newly announced Ownership Rights Record Execution and Registration‑2026 programme. The union argues that the current provisions place undue responsibility on patwaris, who are not the legal owners of the lands whose records they maintain.

The contested scheme aims to digitise and streamline land‑ownership documents across the state, with the executor tasked with verifying and signing electronic records. Patwaris contend that signing e‑documents for properties they do not own could expose them to legal and administrative complications.

In response, the union warned that its members will cease official duties from 15 September if their concerns are not addressed, and it has signalled a possible bandh to pressurise the government. The memorandum seeks clarification on the executor’s duties and a revision of the procedural guidelines.

The protest, if it materialises, could disrupt routine land‑record services in Alirajpur and potentially affect pending transactions for farmers and other stakeholders in the district.
