Parkash Singh Badal, the veteran Akali Dal leader, has signaled a potential return to the BJP fold in Punjab. Badal, speaking recently, stated his openness to forming alliances with parties sharing similar ideologies. While he didn't explicitly name the BJP, the statement has been widely interpreted as a possible indication of a renewed partnership between the two parties in Punjab. The Akali Dal and BJP previously governed Punjab together for several years before a split in 2020.
